Happy Halloween!
Have an amazing Halloween, soak up the smiles and laughter of children! Laugh with them, drink hot chocolate and don't get a tummy ache from too much candy!

My View
This is my view of our kitchen.
A lovely view for sure.
I really do look at things from a vantage point that seems to be different from other members of my family, but that is ok! I embrace my oddities, I love that I find a refrigerator door to be a lovely piece of art! I am fine with putting things in my kitchen that might belong in another's living room!
If you hate it, don't tell me.....let me live in the bliss of my polkadotted asymmetrical mind, putting mirrors all over my fridge and a huge clock in a small space. I am fine there....really I am!

Linda's Journey & More
Just a couple of photos and a quick update.
As I type, my Niece, Linda is in route from the rehab center that she has been in that is a bit over 1 1/2 hours from us to another rehab center that is 20 minutes from us!!! Woot! Woot! She will receive more advanced physical therapy and hopefully this will be her last stop before home. She will likely not be as she was before, but she is much, much closer than we ever hoped for 2 months ago.
Linda has no memory of the accident or her time in ICU. 7 weeks of her life does not exist to her. She knows everyone, remembers much before the accident and still talks with a bit of a slur. Her right leg is still VERY painful and does not work well at all. Her right arm has no strength but dexterity is there in her hand. We are hopeful that the physical therapy will correct some of this and thankful for whatever she gets. God has been very good to her.
I am including a couple of pictures of Amanda's party décor and the open shelving that we now have in our FINISHED kitchen......I know, I know....I promised finished pictures but one has to be home to get those things done! I promise to get pictures taken this week and up on the blog. PROMISE!

To get this kind of writing, simply print out the font you want, cover the BACK of the paper with chalk, put chalk side down on your board and trace the font with a pencil! The outline will be on the chalk board and you simply fill it in! Easy Peasy!!!
I simply found a free printable with the flag letters that I wanted and printed them, backed them with craft paper and taped them to twine! A lovely banner!
I love the white subway tile that backs my over the sink lighting. The fixture was originally white but I needed color....ahhhhhhhhhhhh!
And ladies....I laid every single tile myself. Grouted every line myself.
YOU CAN DO IT!!! Take on that project that you always wanted to do but were concerned that you would not be able to.....You Can!!!!
Open Shelving. I love the "Pottery Barn" look baskets that I scored for seven bucks each! I will be bringing up the rest of my dishes from the basement so the middle and bottom shelves are subject to change, but for now, I really like the minimal and colorful look!
Have a lovely Tuesday!

Working On The Blog And A Few Pictures
I am working on my blog and time is not on my side.
Is it ever?
No, you're right, it's not.
We did have a party this past weekend, and I had it all planned out,
to. be. outside.
and the weather did not cooperate
so we moved it inside
sigh
life goes on
I did throw together a photo booth in the "man cave"
not what I wanted
but still lots of fun
I will leave you with a few fun pics that I took.
Seriously! The picture above NEEDS to be on a Christmas Card!!!!

Wordy Wednesday
I am updating my blog, so I may not post often over the next week or so.....but, I have a bit to "talk" about today.
I have finally finished painting all the trim and doors in our hall! (Hallelujah Chorus is playing loudly in my head right now!!) I LOVE the crisp clean white finish. I literally sigh every time I have looked down the hall since Monday. Yep, my life is that exciting!
I have several projects in the works, and really want to finish them so that you can see!
We are having a party in the back yard this weekend....oh man do I have some fun things planned!
It has been a rough two plus months in our family and since things are greatly looking up (for my niece Linda) I really need a party! So family and friends will come over and we will party like it's some one's birthday! (we have had 2 in the family within 3 days)
A few plans: photo booth! food! cake! hot chocolate! hot tea! food! fun decorations! food! oh wait, did I say food? ok. Can you tell that I am need of a party?
This: will make it's debut at the party, but it will not look like this....hmmmmmmmmmm?!!

Photo Tuesday.....From Our Weekend
A few of the photo's we got while up north in the U.P. of Mich.
I have no idea what they were watching, but they both seem intrigued!
Sisters!
Our Jake is #86 advancing the ball in the picture above. It is one of the few times that he got put on the ground. Jake is one of those smart players and is quickly into the secondary of the opposing team, and gets his guy but keeps himself upright.
Above, Jake is on defense, I am quite certain that I would NOT want to be the guy in Jake's sight! Yikes!
And as you can tell from the picture below of Jake standing with his coaches, he is just a "tiny" little fella! NOT! I just love my Jake!
Below, our view of the ski hills. Booooooo!
They were electric with color and because of the rain and fog, we could not see it.
On our way home, we drove through Milwaukee as that is where Tyler is at school. Took him out for lunch and he got to share Amanda's birthday cookie with his Aunt.
This is our "little" Tyler. Hard to believe I used to rock this baby to sleep!
