Funny How Content One Day Can So Quickly Change....

Today, I am angry. Righteous anger. Anger at sin. Anger at people who hurt children. Anger at people who proclaim to be believers and live like the devil. Anger at what that does to others around them.
What ever happened to loving others, treating them the way we would want to be treated...even if in our eyes they have not earned it? Loving and living like Christ.
The way others are or are not should not be an excuse for bad choices. We are not accountable for others, only ourselves and the choices we make, things we say and how it effects others, and it always will effect others.
God is so very good, He has shown me that He is all I need, all that is necessary for life, no matter how others act or are. And yet I still get angry?? Why?
Because in my humanness, I want life to be perfect here on earth. Every one loving and living like Christ. High fiving each other for a simple victory, cheering each other on. Treating our children like they are the most precious blessing ever given to us.....loving each other. Sigh.
Life is not perfect here. Far from it. Because we are human, because we sin, all of us sin, and we will hurt others, we will say things we regret....BUT, if we love like Christ, those things will be so much further and farther between, that maybe, just maybe, our children will grow in love, and we can change this world into a bit better of a place to be.

Content.

There are lots of things that make me content in my earthly life.

One thing makes me content in my real life - that is my Savior and God, Jesus Christ.

Today, I am showing a few "fun" things that make my earthly flesh feel a bit more content.

1. My Sweet Amazing Husband!

2. My Wonderful Children & In-Law Children and all the blessings that come with!
3. Jobs completed.....home grown, organic produce (grown by myself) safely tucked away for winter use.

4. A freshly cleaned bed! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

5. Football season beginning again! I know, strange for a woman, but I love football.

Have a great and extraordinary Thursday!!!!

Vignette Exception.....

I am not feeling well today, tummy troubles, so I will make a short post about an exception to the "3" thing vignette rule.

Here is an area in my kitchen, in which this is my decor. You will notice four things here, the antique plate is the fourth thing and the exception...why? Because it acts as a backdrop for the french press, coffee beans and candle that are the 3 for the vignette. It is my "pop" of color, it was very inexpensive (found in our travels to Door County" and is just pretty in my sight.

Have a wonderul Thursday!

Make Someone Special, Feel Even MORE Special!!

How special would your family members feel if you brought THIS to the table?!!

Pretty? Yes! Special? Yes! Yummy? Yes indeed!

Difficult and time consuming? NOT AT ALL!!

This was a special Anniversary dessert that I made for my In-Laws last night to celebrate their 54th Anniversary!

And here is how easy it was. In my freezer I had an angel food cake (bought from the bakery section of a super market) a tub of Cool Whip and in my pantry a box of pudding. All these were sugar free, as my MIL is diabetic. I cut the cake in thin layers and simply layered cake, pudding, and cool whip, 2 layers of each. Done.

I keep these small glass cups for dessert specials, and use them often, as I think my family is pretty special! AND....it is built in portion control! BONUS!

But, they look pretty, make you feel special and add very little extra work to dessert time.

I will admit, I have a dishwasher, so it does not add to the work of clean up, but I can see how it would seem "excessive" to the person who must wash their dishes by hand, HOWEVER, you and your family are worth a bit of spoiling once in a while!!

Have a fabulous Wednesday!

Playing Around With Vignettes....

We all have them, vignettes. Those places on top of our end tables, coffee tables, counters, dressers, dining tables, etc. Places that we "display" our treasures.

It is an easy way to get pops of color in our rooms, and easy way to show our personalities, and you can use just about anything to do it!

For example, here on my kitchen island, I have a colander, candle jar and pepper mill.

The key to a great vignette is to cluster 3 things. Odd numbers will ALWAYS be more pleasing to the eye than even numbers of things. Odd numbers of treasures will make sense to the human eye, while even numbers will be perceived as "off". (this is not the same when hanging symmetrical photos tho....another post!)

I added even more color to the colander by filling it with apples (which spilled out & I liked that look) but alas, the apples do not last, however, were quite tasty!!!

So play around, have fun, show your treasures!!!!

I will post another "exception to the rules" (rules are, at times, made to be broken!) tomorrow!

Have a fabulous Tuesday!!
