Oh The Many, Many Things I See,
When strolling in our back yard.
I love the privacy we have, not having
anything but the river behind our home.
I love that we have such diversity of nature
back here, good neighbors, family
and of course, the chickens.
And then there are the herbs,
something so sweet and beautiful
in the petite rather lacy flowers
found on my thyme.
And what brings more life to a back deck
than a child's toy? Nothing, I believe.
Beauty in simple things,
Beauty in the many, many things I see!

Update on the Rock River
Things are not changing,
the water level is so very low.
Boats are sitting on the rocks,
not floating on the water, no where to go.
Things are quiet, no boats are passing by,
wishing that the water would soon
be much more level high.
At least the turtles are enjoying the
low levels of the water!
Please pray for the farmers and others
who depend on the rain and water levels.
This has not been a very blessed feeling
summer of 2012.
p.s. Please forgive my poor limerick attempt!
I am not a poet, and now I know it!

Knock It Off!!!!!
If you remember from a couple of weeks ago,
my daughter, Amanda, and our visitor, Emma,
were at my table making plaques.
Pretty plaques they were!
Here is a quick reminder:
Well, I am always on the look-out for something else
fun to make, and I spied this little beauty,
which cost $79.95, just a huge bit out of our budget,
soooooooo, what did I do?
Came up with my own!
This little beauty will be made into a plaque
for my daughter and daughter in law!
and if you would like one too,
just copy MY pic, (right click on it, click on "save to pictures, and send it to your computer in the place you want!)
and you can use it for your very own plaque for your bedroom!!!
Have a super day!!
p.s. here are the original instructions on making my wooden plaques:

Do You Ever?
Really feel "Blessed beyond measure"?
I know, that is such an old saying.
But really, I mean really, do you ever really feel that way?
In the midst of days that seem longer than you had ever bargained for?
In the midst of job changes, children crying,
not sure when you will ever get around to getting dinner on the table?
On those days when all seems to be going wrong?
Those weeks when everyone and everything else have filled
in every second and you can hardly believe you will make
it through the day, let alone the entire week?
Do you? Do you take a moment to catch your breath
and choose joy? Choose to KNOW that you are
Blessed Beyond Measure?
We all need that....that knowing how blessed we are.
Blessed to be loved. Blessed to be where we are
in the moment that we are.
Blessed to breath. Blessed to have.
Blessed.
I am blessed.
I am blessed beyond anything that I deserve.
Blessed beyond anything.
I am not having a bad day, a bad week or a bad moment.
As a matter of fact, my weekend was amazing,
however, until this moment, I had not taken the time out of
my smile filled, hug filled, love filled days to see how truly
blessed I am. And even when family leaves, I will still be
completely, totally, wonderfully
BLESSED.
