Am I Bugging You???

While we were in New Oleans last month
our wonderful 9 year old made dinner!
Yes, Cheeseburger Pie. He did a wonderful job
stirring, pressing, cutting, mixing, etc.
This is his creation!

Oh, and while he was cooking up a meal
he got a glass of ice water for me.
How special did I feel that he waited on me as
I sat watching others play.
Me! The only one that got that special treatment!
Well....
this is my glass of ice water!

Sigh. it is a plastic ice cube.
Yes, I DO feel special!
He had planned this for a week before we came!
I am loved and blessed beyond measure!
Boys are so much fun!!!!!

Grrrrrrrrrrrr......

Well, my blog is acting up again.
I am frustrated.
I am irritated.
Take a deep breath....
Let it out.....
ok
not gonna lie
still frustrated!!!

So, until I get this fixed,
here is a helpful hints link for you
because when I get upset, I take it
out on cleaning...I can be as aggressive
as I want, and still get a benefit.

Probably will not help today, but whatever.
There is always tomorrow!

Helpful Hints Day

A couple of links that could be helpful for you!
Organizing in 2013. Not a word we always
want to hear, but secretly...we all want to be
ORGANIZED!
Wow, it is even uglier in bold caps.
I may have to work on my attitude today!
OK, I'm better.
I will be more organized in 2013
I will be
I will be
I will try to be.
;o)
Thank you Inspired Room!

Thank you Delightful Order!

House Love

I am and have been since we have been traveling to New Orleans, in love with this house! This is a small portion of the back of the home. I have only admired it from the outside as we walk the park on the way to the lake. It just makes me smile every time I walk past it. I love the pop of color the blue door gives it…I still need to paint my front door a fun shade of turquoise,  but at this time, it is a couple of months away.
I could see my husband and I sitting out in this backyard, gazing at the view of the park, loving each other in this amazing house....only it needs to be moved a bit north, as it is too hot in the summer that far south. (How is that for never being COMPLETELY content! I need to work on that!)

Guessing Game!

Can anyone guess what THIS is?
The picture was taken in the park behind our son’s apartment.
Can you guess?

It is the base of the fallen leaves of the palm trees!
Amazing!

On The Road & Blessed

We are currently on our way home from a fast trip to New Orleans,
it was fun, full of hugs and kisses, laughter and joy. We were sorry that it had to be so short,
but we are grateful that we were able to go at all!
Our experiences were “Grate” and the people that we spent our time with are amazing!
(Yes, the grate really is that color!!)
We visited a Jamaican restaurant and my husband was a up for new things…I on the other hand had the worst tummy day (thanks to eating a banana with my morning medication…bad idea!) so I played it very safe with salad and chips. We also ate at a wonderful Mexican tacoria in the French Quarter proper and had great food. Also the local CafĂ© Mesparo, the most wonderful local French Quarter establishment that is laid back and full of wonderful staff people and the best (everything fried) catfish, oysters, calamari and all the fixings.
Our 9 year old “A” fixed dinner one night, I will post more on that later…he is such a great child!
On many occasions in which we visit, I get the chance to serve at the church (FBNO) in which our family attends…but this time it was my husband who got the chance, he was blessed to be  a part of the worship service on Sunday morning….singing with our son and the others of the church…so cool!
We walked (a lot) cause that’s what you do in New Orleans….narrow streets, TONS of people and very limited parking make for walking to be a must….and our 4, 5 and 9 year old did no complaining  about the 7 mile a day hikes we took…they are just the best.
I am always grateful to get back to my own bed after time away, but this time, I was more than willing to take a lot more time away, and yet that was not to be. Sigh. Missing the mornings of 4 in the bed at once, the giggles and the snuggles.
But, life must be where God wants us to be,
and for now, I am content.
