Feeling Restless

I am feeling a bit restless these days.

I have my eyes on things that are not able to be done at this present time.

Do you ever do this? Let your thoughts jump ahead of where you actually are and then not come back to reality quickly enough?

I do. I am there.

I want to wander aimlessly through small antique shops, pick out flooring, paint things, etc. etc.

REALITY CHECK!

That is not where we are in the process. That is not where my everyday life would have me right this moment.

Where am I? Getting eye exams, buying groceries, working, watching my husband do little (and very necessary) things to the addition that I cannot help with, organizing, etc. etc.

Nothing exciting. Not a thing that is creative.

And it is making me restless.

My time is taken up with so many things that I cannot take the time to even get creative in small ways.

And that, my friends, is life! Like it or not, we have to take care of the mundane small things in order for the other things to happen!

So I am trying to fight past the restlessness and march boldly toward the mundane.

Knowing that in a few short weeks, creative will be the only things getting done and I will wish for a mundane day!

What Have I Been Up To?????

My "part" of this reno is to work on what will be our Master Suite.

We are taking two bedrooms (formally our children's bedrooms) and combining the two into one.

Before you all think we have lost our minds, taking a 3 bedroom home down to a 2 bedroom, that is not the case. We have a bedroom in our basement and with the addition of two egress windows, we will have a 4 bedroom home.
This will be what we need when our family comes home or when having company spend time with us.

Soooooo, I have been hard at work, tearing out walls, closets and getting ready for a new closet (quite large!) and getting ready to move doorways....expand a bathroom and close in a portion of the hall.

I told my husband that I would get a t-shirt made for myself with his nic-name for me....."the beast".
It should fit well with my pink tool belt that he plans on getting me!

Ok, enough said.....

And why would I have the TV on during demo??? To watch training camp info from the NFL and the Sprint Cup Series Race of course! Yes, that is me...the girl that LOVES decorating my home, wearing everything girly and pink, shopping and Football! Oh, and demolishing walls in the mean time.

The View From Outside....

Just a few pictures of the continuing work going on... on the outside of our home with the addition of the "in-law" suite for my Mom.

It will not be the "outside" for long, as we will soon be breaking through from our current home to the addition, making it all one home.

My Mom is quite excited to have a new space and we are so excited that we can offer this to her!

There are always things to be thrown out and things waiting to be put in!

The man above is our "contractor". It seems odd to call him that, as he is a dear friend of my husband's. Clinton's father is a Pastor of a church in Southern Il. which my Husband and youngest Daughter and I have actually had the privilege of traveling too, in which we were able to sing at, giving a concert for the lovely people who attend there. It was a wonderful night!

Above, my wonderful husband...who apparently needs to go back to the beach and get a bit more sun on his legs....I'm in!!!!!!!!!!!

Sadly, this is the totality of the grass left in our back yard. Sigh.

I LOVE power tools!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And why did I adjust the color of the photos?? Because the young man (college age) in the photo's was, how shall I say,  a bit camera shy, and asked me to make him "look good" in the pictures.

And more walls go up.

My view from the picnic table. Why? Because a girl has to take a break once in a while....and guys do not think about taking posterity photos!!!!!!!!!!

a HUGE Shout Out!!!

To the youth in our church!!!!!!

Can I just say (and I will) that we have the best youth in the world!!!

Several of them spent a self-less afternoon in the heat of the day to come out to our back yard and river bank....to clear the visual area for my Mom.

They sweated, tired themselves and I am sure, lost a few pounds, to give my Mom's worsening eyes the ability to see her beloved river.

This view is precious to her and with her degenerating eyes she has fewer and fewer days to see the river.

With giving, loving hearts, several of the young men from our youth group sacrificed an entire afternoon, to give my Mom what she adores......a clear view of the river in her back yard.

She is beyond grateful.

We are beyond grateful.

And when our addition is complete, and Mom moves in...she will have this view on a much larger scale.

We are so very blessed!!!!!

I love Harvest Time Bible Church in Rock Falls, IL!!!!

This Is Thursday

A normal Thursday for me is like this,

Get up, brush teeth, take meds, eat a bite, get dressed, go to work, get groceries, head home, make dinner, talk over the day with Hubby, watch a bit of TV, get ready for bed, take meds, go to sleep.

THIS is today:

Get up
Brush teeth
Take meds
Get crock pot ready with dinner for my Hubby because I will not be home at dinner time.
Eat a bite
Get dressed
Go to work...........work is c r a z y....VBS week is always nuts!
Leave for Chicago
Pick up a few things for the addition
Sigh a few times at the fun I am having but always in my mind is ALL that has to be done at home.
Eat dinner
Head home
Clean up the house a bit
Get ready for bed
Take meds
SLEEP

And start all over again tomorrow.

Are your days so full that you find yourself coming and going, breathing hard and sometimes not catching your breath at all???????????

Yes, that is me at the moment.

This too shall pass.

Soon? Probably not. But I intend to have joy in it all. Pure Joy!
