We Ate, Alot!

A couple of the places that we ate at were
Guero's, a Mexican restaurant on Congress St.
It was eclectic, fun and they had the BEST tortilla's
in the world!! Hand made right in front of all who desire to watch.
Set in an old Seed and Feed store from years ago
with the original wood plank floors,
many pictures hang on the walls with people who
have eaten there in the past, like George W. Bush,
Hillary Clinton, Bill Clinton, Lyle Lovett and many more!

And then there were the street vendors.
All sorts of food truck type of places that serve
Thai food, bbq, fish tacos, fried chicken, and much more.
The one that we stopped at was the one that sold cupcakes!
It was dessert after our mexican fare.
My husband had the camera and snuck a picture of me watching the fun!

And to end, we went to "Ski Side Shores" a place along the river which was as secluded as could be.
Winding roads, cliffs, bluffs and a river.
My kind of place! We had the funniest waiter ever
who is originally from Minnesota!
Eating on the rivers edge we tried a couple of the things that they are "famous" for.
Fried Okra and Fried Pickles!

Our son, who loves fried pickles,
talked his baby sister, who does not like pickles, into trying them. He said that the breading took alot of the pickle flavor away and she trusted him.
Trying a fried pickle.

Spewing a fried pickle.
Why do sister's EVER trust their older brothers?

This was a great place. Relaxing, fun and a wonderful way to have lunch by the river.
